There was a concern about how TTR compared to other tools that have been out there a while. Wow, were we surprised at how much more content TTR has than other tools. More surprising was how much more accurate TTRs explanations and answers were over the competition. I don't know how you can do sales tax research without TTR.

I don't know that I can emphasize how much TTR has absolutely assisted me in all things sales tax in just one sentence so I guess that means I can have lots of run on sentences and never take a breath until I stop ranting and raving how much I LOVE the entire team at TTR and at TTCG. All of them are wonderful people. They are very genuine in their sincerity about helping my company with our trials and tribulations. Since we came on board, I have already been tainted by another firm (that I will not mention) and TTR has gone above and beyond for us. It could be that I know how to negotiate, haha, and get what I want and just overall TTR has the best customer care service and understanding of what we need. They have helped us tremendously on assigning our tax flags and getting our plu's/upc's on the correct flags & understand that no one is perfect and we worked together to obtain a common understanding of any questionable upc's for our company. The entire team has been patient, understanding, communicative, collaborative, extremely helpful, and makes one feel, especially me, like I'm part of the family and I absolutely LOVE since that is the way I was raised and I like that family-caring feeling that TTR exudes over the telephone. I can actually say that I met everyone in person and they are just as genuine and sincere live as they are telephonically. The people at TTR make all the difference and that is why I LOVE TTR. Not only are they knowledgeable in sales tax but they are also wonderful people!

I would like to highlight that not only has TTR saved me time and increased accuracy, but the ability to e-mail answers directly from the system is an extremely valuable tool. The e-mail functionality is so professional that not only do I use it to help other people on staff internally, I frequently use it to send answers to our customers and vendors when they have sales tax questions. The backup (laws, regs, etc.) that is sent with the e-mail allows people to do their own research, and it saves them time as well. Just to give you an idea of the power of this ability, some of our customers are some of the largest cable and internet companies in the world, and I have successfully handled situations with them by supplying accurate tax answers thanks to TTR. TTR has also helped me through 2 sales tax audits with no changes. I have used other tax research software and TTR is unmatched for their sales tax content and ease of use. I really can’t say enough good things about this system when it comes to sales tax research.

I give TTR 5+ stars all the way around!!! You guys are awesome and I am so happy that we found you or you found us, either way. :) My account representative is awesome. He likes to check in and just say hi and see how things are going. Never a pushy sales type call, just a hi how's it going, do you need anything, which is very refreshing. The content is also very awesome because it saves me so much time. I used to spend hours reading regulations, once I found the one I wanted/needed, on the various taxing jurisdictions websites. No more do I have to do that!!! I pull TTR up and presto bingo I have an answer. AND, as a bonus, if I don't understand the plain English of the answer, I can always reach out to the wonderful people at TTR and ask for more clarification. Can't do that on a state's website, and calling them can take hours. I always receive and answer back very quickly from TTR. Your team understands that I need answers timely, and they know what they are doing.

I work with a bunch of engineers. I got my Six Sigma Lean Certification. One of the things that slows down processes is picking things up and putting them down over and over again. TTR can build efficiencies because it keeps things moving and reduces the amount of put-down & pick-ups. It essentially reduces the bottleneck time. When people say, “Oh I’m waiting for the answer from tax,” I see that as somewhat of a failure on my part. I should find ways to make the necessary evils of tax easier for the average person to deal with. That is my job and that is how TTR fits in. TTR saves us time by getting our processing folks quick answers so they can keep moving. That way the tax team at the home office can keep doing what we do best, which is not sales tax!

There is literally NO comparison. TTR wins hands down. We use another tool to calculate our taxes and recently, based on information from TTR, went head-to-head with the other guys. They ended up having to make a technical change as a result. It was a sweet victory for us! We wouldn't have had knowledge or expertise on that subject if not for TTR. TTR puts our finance team, sales team, and collection teams on the same page. We are all reading from the same text & resource so there's less time spent guessing or "thinking" and more time spent on integrating the application of the law into our processes. I am (as you can probably tell) a BIG fan! We used to keep a tax attorney on retainer but we haven't needed to use him in over 2 years - working on my third!

This morning, when I opened and read the TTR Research Team answer to a question I had submitted, my immediate response was the same as usual: I love this company! I love the positive responses I receive from the entire team. I feel like I ask more questions and need more help than any other TTR customer, but everyone I've worked with is patient and willing to take the time to help me use the website more efficiently and effectively. When I have questions that require research, the team responds quickly and completely. The answers are written in language easily understood by the average layperson. We provide services in a number of states and those states we work with have certain tax restrictions, exemptions, regulations, etc. and to keep with government standards and rules, this website would be a great tool for us to always meet those standards. And we understand tax rules or statements can change and it would be helpful to be updated to those changes when they are made and not when it is too late and it has impacted our company. Also, we wanted to a “go to” website that when unexpected questions came up, we had an option to call or view online asap. Our controller felt it was a decision that would benefit our company and help minimize any risk.

We have the Q&A or ask a question feature. I told my boss that TTR’s service is like we have sales tax attorneys on staff and that we would ask questions and get them answered within 48 hours. The CPA firm we use could get us answers within 2 weeks. We never have time to wait for two weeks. Also, it’s a double check of my judgment which I have never had the luxury of before TTR. Everybody knows the states need money and one of the low hanging fruits they go after is sales/use tax. It’s becoming more and more important to get it right and TTR partners with us to make that happen. Plus it’s a reasonable price.

I’m a Tax Director and I’ve been working in tax for over 20 years. TTR presents tax information in an easy to read – Plain English format. Our corporate tax team has used other websites and using them requires us to read a lot more than TTR - just to try and find an answer. The other companies’ websites have what they call explanations, but there are basically a copy-and-paste of the law itself – which does not make things easier to understand. It ends up taking a lot of time and that makes life stressful. TTR is easy to understand and this helps removes so much stress. TTR is truly life changing!

TTR is an excellent tool to get to the heart of the matter - in plain English - rather quickly. This is true whether using a search or going through Explanations or other libraries. Answers to many research questions are just that - answers - not simply copied sections of statutes, regulations, and guidance that often don't give a clear answer. TTR is also well-organized and easy to use, and the explanations are very comprehendible ... you don't feel as though you need to read and re-read 'legalese' several times before you understand it.

Other products may have SOME comparable features, but TTR truly stands out because everything you could possibly need from a tax resource is available in one convenient location. My favorite thing about TTR is the comfort of knowing that if I have a question about the rules or regulations for a specific industry in a certain state, I will not only find my answer, I'll return to my customer fully confident that the answer I am providing is correct and can be substantiated with the proper documentation needed.

I think that most VPs think that if you have a comprehensive research product, then you can get your sales/use research off of that. That would work but it can be very time consuming and/or you may just want a “practical” answer for your particular fact pattern to find an answer for your question. Having all of state and local tax report to me, I can tell you that customers/vendors/procurement waiting for a sales tax answer are not as patient as when you are doing research for other tax areas.

TTR has made all the difference in my sales tax research, and I've been doing this work for years. Reading tax law has always been a challenge and most products give you the laws only. TTR outranks every other product I've looked at by millions of miles. I went so far as to get my company to toss out the other product we were using in favor of TTR. Every big firm raves about other products, but they sure don't use it to do my Sales/Use Tax job. I've been TTR's biggest supporter for a very long time and even invited one of the TTR reference requests to come in-house so I could show them what I've learned. Needless to say, they went right back to the office and signed the TTR Contract.

TTR is much easier to maneuver through than any of the other products that I've used for sales tax. The research engine is user friendly. If I can't find something I send an email or call and I obtain what I need within a few hours. The customer service with TTR doesn't even compare to the other vendors. TTR's customer service was able to meet our deadline in advance of their scheduled distribution of year end 2016 sales tax updates and they answered our questions regarding the varying jurisdictions.

I think any boss would be interested in knowing the cost benefit of TTR. They want to know that it will increase their accuracy and limit their exposure in an audit situation since that is where the majority of the fees and penalties would apply. So if an individual looked at their time savings and then researched more recent audits to see what they paid in additional fees and penalties they could probably more than justify the expense. That was the avenue I took.

It gives you answers in layman’s terms. Give you the legal rule, etc., but also spells it out in language the everyday person can understand. And the guidance is broken down into topics/subjects used in everyday business. There are so many topics to scroll thru, you eventually find the situation you are looking for. Some of the other research programs, you have to have the exact word match, or you will not find anything on your topic.
