(McMinnville, OR, March 11, 2013) - TTR, the industry leader in providing accurate, current, supported and easy to find sales and use tax answers, is pleased to announce its participation in the TeleStrategies conference, May 21-23, at the Peabody Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

TTR's CEO, Shon Holyfield, and Assistant Manager of Research, Heather Pickett, will be giving a two-part presentation on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. The presentation is entitled, "Creating a World Class Transaction Tax Department - Increased Simplicity and Understanding," and gives a walk-through of the "lifecycle" of a telecom tax department, specifically covering the principle areas of transaction taxes.

Part 1 (2:45 PM - 3:45 PM) will focus on two broad areas within a tax department: (1) sales and billing systems, purchases, and automation, and (2) general ledger set-up. The presenters will consider issues such as billing system mapping/coding, tax on tax, and tax automation, and will discuss best practices in each area.

Part 2 (4:00 PM - 5:00 PM) will continue the "lifecycle walk-through" of a telecom transaction tax department, focusing on (1) compliance and (2) audits. In this session, the presenters will consider issues such as tax compliance, bad debts, tax recovery, and audit defense, and will discuss best practices in each area. This is an excellent opportunity for new and experienced telecom tax professionals to walk away with the ability to easily communicate what gets done within their group and identify potential areas of improvement.

Open Q and A sessions will follow both presentations.

This presentation continues TTR's efforts to provide tax professionals with the most accurate and up-to-date sales and use tax answers.
