Nevada Exempts Certain Medical Equipment

Jun 17th, 2019

Effective July 1, 2019, Nevada will exempt durable medical equipment, oxygen delivery equipment, and mobility enhancing equipment when prescribed for human use by a licensed medical provider. This sales tax exemption comes from a November, 2018, voter approved ballot measure which amended the state constitution.

Note that Nevada has not yet addressed whether this would cover sales to hospitals and other healthcare providers. For our healthcare answers, TTR has taken the conservative position that this exemption does not extend to hospitals and other healthcare providers.
