Washington, D.C. Tax Rate Changes

Effective October 1, 2018, tax rates, including sales and use tax rates will increase in Washington, D.C. The general sales and use tax rate will increase from 5.75% to 6%.

Other tax rates, including those for off-premise alcohol, rentals of vehicles and utility trailers, hotel and transient accommodations, theaters and entertainment venues, motor fuel and tobacco products will also increase.
