Texas State of Disaster Exemptions

Texas declared a state of disaster on November 20, 2015 as a result of recent flooding in certain counties. The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts has resources for disaster relief. People with property damaged or destroyed by the flooding are eligible for an exemption from sales tax on charges for repair labor. Additionally, business owners affected by the flooding can request an extension of up to 90 days for filing tax returns and for paying taxes due.
