Tennessee to Lower Economic Nexus Threshold for Marketplace Facilitators

Sep 15th, 2020

Effective October 1, 2020, Tennessee is lowering its economic nexus threshold for marketplace facilitators from $500,000 to $100,000. Prior to October 1, 2020, marketplace facilitators were required to register with the state if they made or facilitated sales of more than $500,000. After October 1, 2020, the nexus threshold will be more than $100,000 during the previous twelve-month period. Marketplace facilitators must register and begin collecting sales tax on the first day of the third month following the month they meet the threshold.
