Kentucky Overrides Governor’s Veto to Make Various Services Taxable

The Kentucky legislature has passed House Bill 366 despite a veto from the governor. As a result, various services will become taxable on July 1, 2018.

Taxable services will include: (1) landscaping services, (2) janitorial services, (3) small animal veterinary services, (4) pet care services, (5) industrial laundry services, (6) non-coin-operated laundry and dry cleaning services, (7) indoor skin tanning services, (8) non-medical diet and weight reducing services, (9) limousine services if a driver is provided, and (10) extended warranty services.

Additionally, Kentucky will tax admissions to (1) bowling centers, (2) skating rinks, (3) health spas, (4) swimming pools, (5) tennis courts, (6) weight training facilities, (7) fitness and recreational sports centers, and (8) golf courses.
