D.C. Taxes Security Services; Increases Tax Rate on Parking

The District of Columbia recently amended its sales tax laws to impose tax on security services. As of October 1, 2011, the District taxes armored car services, private investigation services, and security services.

In addition, the tax rate for parking or storing motor vehicles or trailers has been increased from 12 percent to 18 percent.
